Baby camels are born without humps.
Baby camels don't get their humps until they start eating solid food). When a camel consumes the emergency food supply, the hump will shrink and fall to one side.

More camel facts:
- Asian camels have two humps whereas Arabian camels only have one.
- Most of us believe that, since camels can survive for many days without water, their humps are filled with it. (Most mammals would die if they lose 15% of their water [critical loss of water is called dehydration], but camel can lose of 20-25% water without becoming dehydrated) However, the hump is mainly composed of fat.
- Camels can drink up to seven litres of water in a day.
- Camels can move easily across the sand because of its specially designed feet. Camel's foot consists of two toes that spread when animal touches the ground and prevents sinking in the sand.
- Camel's milk is rich in iron, vitamins and minerals and it is healthier than cow's milk because it contains less fat.
- They are very peaceful animals, however, when they are provoked, they spit greenish substance from their stomach. Also they can use all four legs to kick their opponent in self defence.
- Pregnancy lasts from 9-14 months, depending on the availability of food. They have one calf and it can run a few hours after it is born.
